Members of the Senate voted 45-16 in favor of the UB 2020 Flexibilit y and EconomicGrowth Act, which was announcer earlier this year and heralded by several memberd of the Western New York legislativer delegation. Supporters say the proposed if signed intostate law, will help move alont UB’s quest to become a world-class research institution by giving the universityt more control of its tuition rates, purchasinh power and construction projects. UB President John Simpsom said he hopes the bill advances all the way tothe governor’as desk for a signature in this session.
