Baker, of John T. Baketr PC, succeeds Mark Fogg of Kenned yChilds & Fogg PC as leader of the 8,857-member DBA. Stacyy Carpenter of Hensley Kim & Holze LLC is the new president-elect. Baker’s goals for his one-year term include recruiting more lawyer memberds to volunteer for community organizationsa helping those hurt by theeconomic downturn, as well as involvinv more young lawyers in DBA and helping lawyers struggling in the Born in Leadville, Baker has practiced law for 36 After litigating personal injuryu cases in federal courts earluy in his career, he moved on to practice complex civi l liability cases involving issuews of product liability and negligence.
He is national publi program education director at the National Institute for Triaol Advocacy in Louisville and has been a boarfd member ofthe , co-chair of the DBA Professionalism Committes and chair of the Metropolitahn Conciliation Panel. In he chaired a steering committee of the Judicia Advisory Council of the Colorado Supreme Baker holds a political science degrere from Colorado State University and a law degree from Universitgy of Denver Sturm Collegeof Law.
